When you
work with artists like Dr. Dre, EAZY-E, Ice cube,
Cypress Hill, as well as Ralph Tresvant, and Michael
Bolton, and all the while your passion is jazz…. you
might think the jump from hip hop to smooth jazz would
seem impossible. For Michael Sims, the transition was as
natural as picking up his guitar. At times, the songs on
Room with a Groove
float like a feather on a breeze.
Sims playing is truly the work of a seasoned craftsman
at the top of his game. Fluid and passionate, the songs
are well written and the arrangements are strong without
being overly complicated. Sims seems to have found the
perfect balance between the composer/player and the
